C is for Carlsbad Caverns

A year ago, I thought that visiting a cavern would have been just ok; however, this past summer I went to 2 caverns: one in Tennessee, and one in West Virginia.  They were really awesome!  It’s amazing was nature can do!  The formations are spectacular, and it’s incredible how perfectly dark (literally) it is when they turn the tour lights off.  Each cavern had its own story of discovery and use, so there was even some fun man-made history that went along with the natural history of the caverns.

This is why C is for Carlsbad Caverns.  I would love to visit this National Park some day and explore the cavern and areas around it.  I bet the sites are awesome!  Best of all, the cavern maintains a constant temperature of 56 degrees Fahrenheit, a perfect retreat from the hot New Mexico weather above ground!

I love visiting caverns in the summer, a sense of adventure without the heat.

Hit up Mammoth Cave – it’s only about 5 hours from here, and it’s a great time. There are plenty of beautiful trails and other really cool places to visit around there. You’d love it!
